The market for ground calcium carbonate (GCC) in Western Europe is one of the largest in the world. CCA-Europe brings together the main EU players in the different calcium carbonate sectors (chalk, limestone, marble, dolomite, PCC).

Membership conditions / how to become a member

Membership to CCA-Europe is open to Full and Associate members, fulfilling the following criteria:

  • Full membership is open to all persons, associations and companies having a subsidiary or business unit, engaged within the geographic area of Europe in the business of winning, working and/or selling calcium carbonate and associated products, and who manifest a competence and a real interest in participating actively in the achievements of the association's goals.
     
  • Associate membership is open to any natural person or legal entity, including subsidiaries of Full Members, which Board of Directors considers able to contribute usefully to the attainment of the goals of the Association.

Membership Applications need to be made in writing to the Secretary General and will be submitted to the Board of Directors at its next meeting for approval or rejection. (Ref. Association by-laws).

CARMEUSE GROUP

CARRIERES DU BOULONNAIS

(website: http://www.groupecb.com) is a member  of French family owned “Groupe CB”, which has been built and developed over four generations from exploitation of minerals through industrial processing and partner services.  Carrières du Boulonnais  is producing and selling more than 8 million tons per annum of limestone, 6 million tons of which are coming from the largest quarrying site in France. The quality of the veins linked to a constant investment policy, enables Carrières du Boulonnais to offer a wide range of granularities (microns to 15T a piece) and guaranteed chemical characteristics. The materials are delivered to steel, lime, glass, cement, paper, carpet and animal food industries, to waste, water, agricutural and environmental treatments and to all activities related to road, building and constructions. Carrières du Boulonnais is ISO 9001 , 14000 and GMP.

CHARIER SA

Charier SA is a family-owned company, founded in 1897, with a very long experience of quarrying but now developed also in road construction and waste industry. Production of minerals is around 5 millions tons of different types (diorite, granite, gneiss, marine sand, limestone) for aggregates (road construction, concrete) or agricultural and industries supplies. VEREINIGTE KREIDEWERKE DAMMANN KG

(http://wwww.dammann.de) was founded in 1966 and is part of the OMYA Group. The company mainly produces chalk for around 1,4 Mio tons per year. The headquarters are located in Söhlde (Germany) and the company has 3 production sites situated in Söhlde, Lägerdorf and Rügen. Dammann produces chalk for user industries such as the paper, rubber,cable, animal food, agricultural and environmental.

DANKALK

(http://www.dankalk.com) has been quarrying limestone in Aggersund for more than 100 years. Initially, the lime works were privately owned, but in 1948 it was acquired by DAG. 1965 saw the establishment of Dagri A/S, which later became Dankalk A/S, and finally Dankalk in 1997. Dankalk is 100 % owned by DLG (Dansk Landbrugs Grovvareselskab) since 1969. The company's production is of approximately 600 000 tons per year.The headquarters are loacted in Logstor (Denmark). Dankalk has one production sites in Logstor, one in Roslev and two in Svenstrup. Their main markets are the agricultural, environmental and industrial sectors in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Latvia, Poland and Germany.
